Crazy People Music live at Gazarte!

Gazarte hosts the renewed performance of “Jazz Christmas with Crazy People Music”. A festive concert that promises a unique journey into the world of jazz, funk and New Orleans second line tradition. The Athens-based collective Crazy People Music has been making a mark since 2008, playing in venues all over Greece and other parts of the world, gathering enthusiastic audiences with their live performances. Their distinctive approach combines the authenticity of jazz and the dynamism of funk.

Presentation of his new album ‘Dandelion’ at Gazarte Roof Stage

 

On December 12, Panos Birbas wiil be at the Gazarte Roof Stage, where he will present his brand new album Dandelion, released by United We Fly on December 8, 2023.

 

Dandelion is orchestrated by Panos Birbas himself while his compositions are based on the principles of songwriting, with a strong cinematic mood and influences from the 60s. The album also features 3 guest appearances by Rosey Blue, Lola Giannopoulou and Etten.

 

“In the LP “Dandelion” I attempted to pull back the curtain, to reveal myself as much as possible, to be as sourcey and clear as possible. To write exactly about what I love most carrying with me a vehicle ideal for words, all my favorite music.”

 

Panos Birbas is a songwriter, musician, arranger and music producer. His solo career began with the release of his first solo album “Mournful” (2013) and the single “Lullaby” (2015). In 2017 he released his second solo album “Finchley Road” on Violins Productions, featuring uncompromising arrangements, as well as interiority and lyricism. Since 2015, Panos has fronted Dustbowl and together they have performed live as opening acts for Dream Syndicate, Mark Lanegan etc.

ONIRAMA, the most dynamic band, with dozens of timeless hits and subversive collaborations, returns to the Gazarte Roof Stage.

 

After their extremely successful performances last winter, they are coming, starting Saturday, April 6, with a renewed mood, new guests and “with a bunch of songs” to offer unique journeys to the world of music.

Basic information about the Roof Stage

-It is located on the first floor of Gazarte and offers panoramic views of the city.

-It functions both in summer as an open space and in winter, as the windows and the roof are closed around the perimeter and there is heating.

-Seating: At the Roof Stage depending on the plan you will see at the pre-sale, there is the possibility of numbered table seating, however the set up is more relaxed mainly with stools and stools.

*Free seating refers to a zone with unnumbered seating. The earlier you arrive at the venue, the more seating options you will have (our doors always open 1 hour before the event starts).

*Standing – refers to standing room.

*The plan and placement of the tables per zone are based on the final sales from the site.

-Access: from the staircase and by elevator. Access for people with disabilities.

-Smoking: Access on the same level to a terrace for smoking.

-The entrance is located on Voutadon Street.

The girl with the velvety voice, the exotic blend of sounds, rhythms and colours, returns on the Roof Stage of GAZARTE, inviting us to listen, feel, sing and allow ourselves to wander in Greek and not only.

 

Interpreting her own songs such as her new single “Chromata”, a timeless mid tempo song first performed by the band Εκείνος Και Εκείνος, but also favourite songs of other Greek and foreign composers and performers, together with her six-piece band, she will offer us, always filtered through her personal view, a musical journey full of uplifting melodies and repertoire twists.

 

Penny has for years held the “secret” to travel us to a live music experience of high aesthetics, which will make us smile, dance and dream again.

Merem was formed in Rotterdam in 2021 by the musicians Dimitra Metzaki (oud), Yiorgos Bereris (piano), Vanessa Kourtesi (vocals), Yiannis Vagianos (double bass) and Ektoras Remsak (drums).

 

The band members met during their studies at Codarts University of the Arts. Their common roots combined with the environment in which they met, prompted them to compose their own music with influences from Greek tradition and Jazz improvisation.

 

The result of their joint quest is the self-titled album Merem, recorded in Utrecht in early 2023 and released in September.

Their sound is soft, poetic and colourful. They love the freedom offered by improvisation. Their compositions include elements, coming from rebetiko and music from Smyrna, that bring oriental flavours to their music.

Yiannis Dionysiou will close his wonderful concert summer at the Roof Stage of Gazarte on Friday, October 20 along with his excellent collaborators.

Yannis Dionysiou is one of the most talented and promising performers of his generation and has been singled out for his rare talent. He can easily cope with the whole spectrum of singing and stands out both for the recognizable color of his voice and for his interpretive power.

 

An additional element that also makes him special is the wide range of his voice, which enables him to move comfortably across the entire spectrum of inspired Greek singing.

He has already given the credentials of his rare talent with his successful live performances and enjoys the trust of important artists who have shared their work with him on stage.

 

He will perform beloved classic folk and rebetiko songs that have established him as an ambassador of this great musical tradition to our young audiences, as well as new songs included in his first solo album “First Volta” signed by acclaimed artists.

Yannis Dionysiou is a performer who “conquers” the stage and respects his audience, giving them unique musical performances.

Through their unique LIVE show at the legendary Gazarte Roof Stage, the pioneering band promises to revive the atmosphere, aesthetics and energy of their first shows. Where subculture met style and everything had an authenticity with meaning and reason. Through this show, listeners will have a unique experience and get lost in the world of XAXAKES, in a world that is glamorous yet dark, where sets, costumes and theatricality are integral elements.
