ANNEKE VAN GIERSBERGEN

FRIDAY 02 MAY 2025

GAZARTE MAIN STAGE

Anneke Van Giersbergen Returns to Greece for a Series of Acoustic Live Performances!

The multifaceted, multi-talented, and highly active Anneke Van Giersbergen—this charismatic performer with the angelic voice, rare star quality, and an extensive discography—has been enchanting the world for the past 30 years! It was during the innocent mid-’90s, specifically in 1995, with the release of the masterpiece Mandylion by the alternative prog rockers The Gathering, that we were first introduced to this unique artist named Anneke. From the very first listen of the opening track, Strange Machines, her voice was so captivating that there was no doubt her future would be bright!

Since then, she has followed an extraordinary musical journey, releasing five more full-length albums with the Dutch band, contributing as a guest vocalist on albums by Napalm Death, Moonspell, Within Temptation, Ayreon, Anathema, and Amorphis, among others. She has collaborated with Devin Townsend, co-founded The Gentle Storm and later Vuur, launched her solo career (first as Aqua de Annique and later under her real name), and performed countless concerts around the globe. Whether with a full band or in the magical solo acoustic incarnation, Anneke has already blessed us with unforgettable performances in Greece numerous times!

Now, it’s official: our beloved singer, songwriter, and composer—Anneke of our hearts—is returning to Greece for a series of concerts as part of her Balkan tour! Get ready for unforgettable nights filled with acoustic renditions, heartfelt performances, nostalgic yet uplifting sounds, featuring material from her entire career—from The Gathering to the present—along with carefully selected covers. THE NIGHT ETERNAL & BLACK SOUL HORDE

The Night Eternal (DE) live in Athens

Friday, May 9, 2025 | Gazarte Ground Stage

Special guest: Black Soul Horde (GR)

Tickets are available for presale via more.com and its affiliated stores.

The Night Eternal, one of the hottest and most promising forces in modern heavy metal, are coming to Greece for the first time for a highly anticipated show at Gazarte Ground Stage on May 9, 2025. This is a unique opportunity for Greek fans to witness a band that is making waves right now—a phenomenon unfolding before our very eyes!

Their sound creates an atmosphere that pushes and, at times, transcends the boundaries of metal subgenres. It’s an explosive blend of traditional heavy metal infused with dark, gothic overtones. Imagine the melodic elegance of classic metal, enriched with haunting vocals that echo like whispers in a crumbling cathedral. With galloping guitars, drums that resonate like the war drums of a mystical apocalypse, and passionate, frenzied solos that howl in the spirit of pure heavy metal heritage, The Night Eternal craft songs that leave an indelible mark on the history of our beloved music. Their live performances, often described as mesmerizing rituals, exude a raw yet captivating energy that enchants and magnetizes their audience.

Hailing from Germany—the cradle of European metal—The Night Eternal uphold the musical tradition of a country that has given us some of the most legendary bands and albums in the genre. Their first EP, The Night Eternal (2019), and debut album, Moonlit Cross (2021), paved the way for their recognition, drawing in a devoted following. However, it was Fatale (2023)—released through the cult label Ván Records—that established them as one of the most promising acts in the scene. A dark, melodic masterpiece that shook both fans and critics alike, the album received rave reviews from major publications, including Rolling Stone.

In their short yet remarkable journey, The Night Eternal have already toured with acts such as Lucifer, Angel Witch, and the legendary Blind Guardian, proving time and time again that their music is not just meant to be listened to at home—it must be experienced live to fully grasp its power and absorb its energy.

If you crave a live experience that will captivate you, if you want to lose yourself in atmospheres brimming with dark magic and electricity, if you want to feel every riff strike directly at your heart, then this is the show you can’t afford to miss! On May 9, 2025, at Gazarte Ground Stage, The Night Eternal will prove to you why metal is not just music—it’s a ritual!

Opening the night will be Athens-based epic/heavy metallers Black Soul Horde, who have built an impressive live reputation, sharing the stage with Judas Priest, Cradle of Filth, Angel Witch, Night Demon, Medieval Steel, Domine, Eternal Champion, Portrait, and Unto Others, among others. They have also performed at major local festivals, including Up The Hammers Festival and Release Athens. The band is currently unveiling material from their upcoming fourth full-length album, set for release in 2025.

COVEN

Coven (USA) “Magickal Chaos” East European Tour
Special Guest: Saturday Night Satan (GR)

Tuesday 22 April

Gazarte Ground Stage | Athens

The legendary forefathers of occult rock, Coven, with iconic frontwoman and priestess of the genre Jinx Dawson at the forefront, return to Europe for five live shows. Scheduled for April 2025, this concert series marks one of the rarest returns of the American band to the Old Continent, as well as – most likely – the last chance for audiences to enjoy them live in these cities and countries.

It is a fact that, apart from a few exclusive appearances at European festivals such as Roadburn, Desertfest, Hammer of Doom and Inferno, and despite their sought-after status, the cult spawners of occult rock did not used to visit this side of the Atlantic very often. At the same time this juncture finds Coven closing a busy cycle of activity, with numerous shows in the US, including a run alongside their truest musical descendants, the great Lucifer of Johanna Sadonis. Most recently, the band made their first small screen debut, appearing on the soundtrack of the TV series “Hysteria!” on the Peacock TV Network.

As the forerunners of an entire musical subgenre, Coven have influenced a huge range of bands, from heavy metal originators Black Sabbath, to the modern wave of bands like Lucifer, Uncle Acid and the Deadbeats, Blood Ceremony and Bloody Hammers. They are part of the first wave of occult rock, along with bands like Jacula, Black Widow, and even Iron Butterfly, and are rightly described by the music press and the public as one of the most influential acts of the late ’60s and early ’70s. With timeless anthems such as “Wicked Woman”, “Black Sabbath” and “Dignitaries of Hell” from their legendary 1969 debut Witchcraft Destroys Minds and Reaps Souls still playing on repeat on playlists worldwide, and despite their highly eclectic approach to the record, reinforced by long periods of absence from the scene, Coven remain active, having even released the 2013 album Jinx that further cemented their cult status.

Eastern Europe, and more specifically the Balkans, will have a rare opportunity to witness 5 unique concerts of this highly influential band, in one of their equally rare visits to the European continent.

Joining them in this run of 5 concerts will be Saturday Night Satan, the newly formed occult rock band from Athens. SNS made a big splash in 2024, with the release of their debut album All Things Black, for whose presentation they have already performed numerous concerts within borders, alongside big names like Judas Priest, Accept, Bruce Dickinson, Green Lung, Lucifer, Hällas, Night Demon and Sonja, and have appeared at top sound festivals like Up The Hammers, Release Athens, Mammothfest and Rethymno Rocks. With the first cut of their debut album almost sold out and they themselves never stop making exciting plans for their musical future, the quintet has already gained a reputation as a very dynamic act with rock’n’roll energy and impressive presence, which makes them the perfect addition, on this tour, destined to make its own history!
