ODEON OF HERODES ATTICUS
FRIDAY 20 SEPTEMBER
The French pop opera diva, Emma Shapplin, is coming to Athens for a unique concert on Friday, September 20th, accompanied by her French band and a large classical choir, at the foothills of the sacred rock of the Acropolis!
“I deeply appreciate the expression of emotion through art. If we eliminate emotion, then what do we have to say as artists? Art is born from emotion, and our voice perfectly reflects our personality… it is an instrument that is connected to our whole body,” notes the French star.
Known for her unique performance style that captures the essence of musical freedom, her refusal to be confined by labels and rules, her millions of record sales, and countless sold-out performances worldwide, Emma Shapplin is rightfully considered one of the most influential artists of our time.
Emma made her first major success with “Spente le stelle” from her debut album in 1997, “Carmine Meo,” which surpassed 1,500,000 sales.
With her remarkable talent that combines classical and contemporary music, she will offer us a night filled with passion, emotion, and unforgettable melodies. Together with a live, multi-member classical choir and performing hits like “Spente Le Stelle” and “Carmen,” she will take the audience on a musical journey that blends operatic elements with modern, romantic, and dramatic.
On Friday, September 20th, we surrender to the magical voice, performance, and stage presence of Emma Shapplin in one of the most historic and iconic concert venues in the world!
We will have the opportunity to hear her greatest hits, from neoclassical music to pop, as well as some very famous opera arias, including Puccini’s arias.
