After their triumphant performance at the Death Disco Open Air Fest 2023, the demand for their return to Greece was undeniable. Despite performing under the relentless summer sun and the unbearable 44-degree heat, they managed to energize the crowd with their rhythmic, catchy, and extroverted post-punk, winning many new fans during their first appearance in Athens.

On Saturday, February 1st, the much-loved ACTORS—fresh from releasing two exceptional singles teasing their upcoming album—will headline their first show on Greek soil at Gazarte Ground Stage!

The band started their journey by releasing a series of singles, beginning with “Post Traumatic Love” in 2012. Six years later, the Vancouver-based quartet, led by Jason Corbett, signed with Toronto’s Artoffact Records, immediately dropping their highly anticipated debut album, It Will Come to You, which quickly became one of the label’s best-selling records. Their sophomore album, Acts of Worship, followed in 2021. In late 2020, ACTORS released a new single, “Love U More”, accompanied by a music video directed by Juno Award winner Peter Ricq.

Tracks like “L’appel du Vide,” “Slaves,” “Face Meets Glass,” and “Bury Me” shine through Corbett’s production style: distorted beats paired with warm synth layers, subtle yet powerful guitar riffs, and a solid rhythm section contributed by the rest of the band. All their music is written, produced, mixed, and mastered by Corbett at his Vancouver studio, Jacknife Sound. Citing David Bowie as his foundational influence, Corbett’s sound leans on post-punk yet redefines it, making it more relevant than ever, alongside bands like The Soft Moon.

The ACTORS have spent the past few years touring extensively across the US, Canada, and Europe, gracing stages at major festivals like Amphi Festival, Wave-Gotik-Treffen, Cold Waves, Substance, Death Disco, Verboden, and more.

Joining ACTORS are Sacred Skin from Los Angeles, making their debut Athens appearance. Their first single, “Colder”, released in March 2021, captivated dark souls worldwide with its melancholic tones and impeccable pop aesthetic. Follow-up singles like “Eyes Closed” and “Far Away” led to early live performances at LA’s Substance Festival and the iconic Hollywood Palladium.

This sequence of releases and live shows culminated in the release of their debut album, The Decline of Pleasure, in May 2022. Dreamy new wave compositions paired with DaMert’s passionate vocals made it a standout in its genre. Their second LP, Born on Fire, released on September 13, 2024, has already been hailed as one of the year’s most significant new wave releases.

• Smoking area available in the adjacent garden on the same level.
• Entrance is located on Voutadon Street.
