Kepler is Free are coming to the Roof Stage of gazarte on Thursday, June 8th to lead us through their soul-jazz and alternative hip-hop paths!

The members’ common love for Jazz and Hip-Hop, led the band to compose and release in 2020 their first album entitled “Teegarden”.

Their compositions move on the spectrum of abstract jazz element enriched with various rhythmic hip-hop and soul elements, while maintaining structured forms that leave room for the members to express themselves artistically and interact.

The band’s name comes from a decommissioned space telescope that NASA launched in 2009 to discover planets similar in size and conditions to Earth. Named after the astronomer Johannes Kepler, the telescope was retired after nine years of operation. After his very successful mission, he remained in space orbit, which is why the band members consider him to be ‘Free’ now.

In the same year, Kepler is Free was founded and on the occasion of the members’ love for astronomy, they adopted the surname of the astronomer adding the adjective ‘Free’ which characterizes the now free course of the telescope.

On Thursday, June 8, Kepler is Free will go up to the Roof Stage of gazarte for a live show with deep brass, elegant keys, traveling strings, but also adhesive electronics that will take us to new universes!
