Kurt Elling is coming to Gazarte’s Roof Stage for two performances that will make history!
On the occasion of the SuperBlue album, Kurt Elling joins forces with guitarist Charlie Hunter and together, they give a new dimension to the modern jazz scene. The result of the collaboration of the two musicians on the album SuperBlue, is an enthusiastic and creative production that proves the power and inexhaustible flexibility of Kurt Elling’s vocal abilities and Charlie Hunter’s skill to masterfully acrobat between jazz, funk and hip -hop.
Flanked by DJ Harrison on keyboards and Corey Fonville on drums, these performances on July 9 and 10 are two must-see happenings under the summer sky, on the Roof Stage of gazarte.
With two GRAMMY Awards and many more international awards, Kurt Elling has proven his excellent technique and aesthetic in the field of jazz music. His velvety voice, the instrumental approach to his singing and the dramatization of his live performances make him uniquely special.

Short bio:
Born in Chicago in 1967, Elling began singing in small clubs in the city before moving to New York to pursue his dream of becoming a professional musician.
Kurt Elling has won numerous awards and accolades including 2 GRAMMY Awards, 2 German Echo Awards, 2 Dutch Edison Awards and 3 Prix du Jazz Vocal (France) and has 15 GRAMMY nominations. He has also topped the DownBeat Critics and Readers polls for 14 consecutive years and has won twelve Jazz Journalists Awards for “Male Jazz Artist of the Year”.
In addition to his impressive music career, Elling is also known for his love of poetry and literature, as well as his political and social views.

Charlie Hunter is a quirky guitarist who has created an impressive and innovative sound. Hunter mixes the complexity of jazz with the dynamics of funk and the rhythmic density of hip-hop, giving the listener a unique experience.
She has collaborated with musicians such as John Mayer, Norah Jones, Mos Def and D’Angelo, and has released several personal albums that are a source of inspiration for many other artists.
