Athens Welcomes POROSI
The first three announced concerts
Once upon a time, the Greek word “πόρωση” (pórosi) — a term used to describe intense passion, pleasure, thrill, ecstasy, obsession — was everywhere. It spoke of fleeting but powerful sensations found in music, cinema, food, play, in life itself. Then somehow, it faded away.
POROSI is here to bring that lost word back to life — experientially, through music.
This newly formed initiative — created by one of the founding members of Arte Fiasco — makes its official debut and announces its first three live shows for the upcoming season.
Presale is now open, featuring a limited “POROSI Launch Pass” that offers discounted access to all three shows for early buyers, as well as individual Early Bird tickets available separately for each event.
POROSI 01: SARAH DAVACHI + KARA-LIS COVERDALE
Tuesday, October 7, 2025
Gazarte Main Stage
Opening Act: Bethnal Greener
Two of the most important contemporary figures in the minimal and experimental scene come to Greece for the first time — in a unique double bill that also marks their first-ever joint performance in Europe.
Sarah Davachi, a Canadian composer and performer of pipe organ and Hammond B3, explores a space between acoustic forms and electronic instruments, between melody and structured noise. Influenced by minimalist principles, early music concepts, and experimental practices, she has developed a remarkable body of work and presented her compositions across iconic venues worldwide.
Kara-Lis Coverdale is an internationally acclaimed Canadian artist known for her seamless navigation between acoustic and electronic sound worlds, creating music that defies genre boundaries. Her work reflects a deep understanding of borderless electronic music, rooted in the interconnected pathways of musical systems and languages.
Bethnal Greener is the musical vehicle of sound artist and producer Kostis Kilymis. Originating from the realms of noise and electroacoustic experimentation, his music unfolds narratives that oscillate between stripped-down electronics and a persistent inner rhythmic pulse. His new album, “Pedio” (Field), is set for release this coming autumn.
POROSI 02: OREN AMBARCHI
Sunday, December 7, 2025
Gazarte Main Stage
Opening Acts: Tropical Geometry + Savvas Metaxas
Oren Ambarchi’s work inhabits the spaces between various musical traditions and influences: contemporary electronic music, improvisation, experimental minimalism, deceptive simplicity, and a latent rock physicality. Since the late ’90s, his guitar abstraction and extended technique have led him to a highly personal sonic universe, integrating a broader palette of instruments and sensibilities.
Ambarchi has performed, collaborated, and recorded with an impressive list of artists including Fennesz, Sunn O))), Alvin Lucier, John Zorn, Merzbow, Jim O’Rourke, Fire!, among many others.
Tropical Geometry began as a shape-shifting project among friends, culminating in their studio album “Luck Mountain” (2021). Now a dynamic duo (Babis Theocharis & Antonis Papadopoulos), they unfold their experimental pop through sonic explorations rooted in krautrock, psychedelia, and minimalism. Their live shows are rare and carefully curated.
Savvas Metaxas is a musician and sound artist active in the fields of experimental music, field recordings, and modular synthesis. With over 15 releases across vinyl, CDs, and tapes, his music has been featured by labels such as LINE, Superpang, Granny Records, Glistening Examples, More Mars, Flaming Pines, Coherent States, Falt, Grisaille, and more. He has performed in numerous experimental art spaces, festivals, museums, galleries, and concert halls. His latest release, “Feedback Poetics”, was published by The Tapeworm.
