A PLACE TO BURY STRANGERS
SATURDAY, APRIL 18, 2026 | GAZARTE GROUND STAGE
Official Tour Support: KONTRAVOID
The loudest, most distorted, and most ferocious sonic force of the modern shoegaze and noise-rock scene returns to Athens! A Place To Bury Strangers are coming on Saturday, April 18th, 2026, to the Gazarte Ground Stage, ready to destroy the stage and level the audience, joined of course by the enigmatic Kontravoid, one of the most influential artists in today’s dark electronic scene.
For more than two decades, Oliver Ackermann and his crew have been turning the sound of chaos into art. From their early DIY years in Brooklyn to landmark albums like Exploding Head, Pinned, and the recent See Through You, A Place To Bury Strangers remain “the loudest band in New York,” a band that treats the stage like a battlefield and music like purification. Their sound—a blend of post-punk, noise, and industrial—has stayed true to its roots for years: raw, relentless, and utterly liberating for anyone willing to step into the vortex of the American outfit.
Renowned for their borderline destructive live shows—soaked in strobes and feedback, with screaming guitars and a frenzied crowd surrendering to pure intensity and ecstasy—A Place To Bury Strangers deliver, every time, a plunge into absolute sonic darkness.
Joining them for this once-in-a-lifetime experience is Kontravoid, the dark alter ego of Canadian artist Cameron Findlay, who will once again bring to Athens the cold energy of industrial electronica and EBM. With tracks like “Too Deep,” “Faceless,” and the iconic “Undone,” he has built a devoted following in the clubs of Berlin and Los Angeles, while his performances—always in his signature toy mask—are nothing less than a dark electronic ritual.
The meeting of A Place To Bury Strangers and Kontravoid on the same stage is far more than a double bill. It is an ode to darkness, distortion, and the existential tension that runs through the most authentic expressions of underground music. Be there!
