On June 14th at Gazarte, the wave of Nouvelle Vague comes to sweep Athens into a night of musical euphoria full of dreams, melodies, dance, innocence and eroticism. Summer is here and the relaxing freshness of Nouvelle Vague comes to cool us down, bring a smile to our faces and take us on exciting musical journeys.

Twenty years after their debut, Nouvelle Vague continue to evolve. It’s been eight years since the release of I Could Be Happy, the last album Marc Collin and Olivier Libaux created together. With Olivier’s tragic death two years ago, the group lost one of its creative minds, a brilliant and accomplished composer. Marc Collin, now alone at the helm of Nouvelle Vague, recently released their seventh album, Should I Stay Or Should I Go?.

They are coming to Athens with the new album and with the wonderful singers, Alonya and Marine Quéméré performing their songs – both the older ones, so loved by the Greek audience and the new ones. Nouvelle Vague, the French translation of new wave or bossa nova, the musical hybrid of the cross between Brazilian traditional musicians and jazz.

The Nouvelle Vague are not repeated. They do not follow a formula. And of course they don’t copy. They produce authentic music that combines a unique sense of nostalgia and melancholy with an optimism and an air of renewal. With each new release, Nouvelle Vague confirm their place on the world music map as one of the most original bands. With every note, Nouvelle Vague manage to enchant their audience and lead them on a musical journey full of emotions and twists and turns.

This is exactly the case with their new work, released 20 years after their debut album (which became a recording phenomenon, selling over 200,000 copies). The new album includes hits such as Should I Stay or Should I Go?, This Charming Man, You Spin Me Around, Rebel Yell, Only You and Shout.

With their absolutely unique aesthetics and their special feel good way, Nouvelle Vague bring the freshness that we need so much. On June 14th at Gazarte, Athens rises on the wave of Nouvelle Vague, ready to dream, sing, sway and dance to their amazing rhythms!

Basic information about the Roof Stage

– Located on the first floor of the Gazarte and has a panoramic view of the city.

– It operates both in summer as an open space and in winter, as the windows and the roof are closed around the perimeter and there is heating.

– Seating.

*Free seating refers to a zone with unnumbered table seating. The earlier you arrive at the venue, the more seating options you will have (our doors always open 1 hour before the event starts).

* Standing – refers to standing room.

*The plan and placement of tables by zone are shaped based on final sales from the venue.

– Access. Access for the disabled.

– Smoking: Access on the same level to a terrace for smoking.

– The entrance is located on Voutadon Street.

*Consumption is not mandatory
