Maria Kilaidoni and her musicians, on Sunday 18 February at the Gazarte Roof Stage, present a musical performance with bright and sweet melodies, with songs from her personal discography, from other Greek composers she loves and from the American blues, jazz and country scene, which are the main influences of her music.

 

Maria, known for her ability to bring a note of optimism to her performances, despite the difficult, often difficult, times we live in, together with her seven-piece band, which consists of piano, guitars, bass, drums, horns and vocals, promises you a night you will definitely remember for a long time!

 

The guests of honour of the evening are her favourites, Doros Dimosthenous and Manolis Famellos.

CBL / CARBON BASED LIFEFORMS

Carbon Based Lifeforms (CBL) are Johannes Hedberg and Daniel Vadestrid, both born in 1976 and based in southwest Sweden. They met when both 15 and are still, amazingly, working happily together, over 25 years later. Their latest album, ‘Seeker’ (2023), showcases their trademark ambient sound, filled with layered synthesizers and intricate electronic beats. you will experience both a fresh sound and
will undoubtedly be immersed in the signature atmosphere and the very unique Sound of Carbon Based Lifeforms.

 

SYNC24

SYNC24 is the solo project of Daniel Segerstad from Carbon Based Lifeforms. From the very beginning of his career Daniel has written tracks by and for himself. He wrote two self released albums under the name TiN. But for the most part he was busy with CBL,Thermostatic and the lesser known acts T.S.R. and Arius. In 2005 he decided to start a solo project when he happened to have a few tracks that didn’t quite fit the CBL sound space that Ultimae Records, who where releasing CBLs material at the time, wanted to release.

 

AES DANA

Vincent Villuis aka AES DANA is composer, sound designer, DJ and founder of Ultimae records label. An electronic activist for over 25 years, also a founding member of the Asura band. Bass player and singer in several coldwave and industrial bands as a teenager, Vincent then moved on to composing with machines and specialised in audio sampling and layering of acoustic sounds digitally transmuted. Its music ensures a coherent fusion between Deep Ambient, Downtempo and IDM with a touch of Electronica Neo-Classical, Indus & Liquid Drum’n’Bass.

 

MIKTEK

Mihalis Aikaterinis is the name behind project Miktek, born in Mytilene (Lesvos island /Greece). Miktek is in a constant exploration of various soundscapes, styles and atmospheres; experimenting in a large scale of electronic music mostly in Ambient / IDM / Downtempo . His music has been described as meticulously crafted from beginning to end; featuring unique percussion, palpable atmospheres and subtle melodies.

Legendary musician and skater Tommy Guerrero finally in Greece for a unique concert on Saturday, April 6, 2024 at Gazarte Ground Stage!

One of the world’s leading professional skateboarders, Tommy Guerrero is both an accomplished musician and artist, with a distinctive style expressed in his personal albums, collaborations, TV and film scores and his overall relationship with the artistic community of San Francisco, the city where he was born.

 

Guerrero became one of the original members of Powell Peralta’s legendary skate group “Bones Brigade” in 1984. He and his brother, Tony, had already started playing music together in the late 70s, growing up in an environment where the DIY punk and skateboard culture and ethos took center stage, shaping their personalities to this day. He began his musical journey as a member of skate rock band Free Beer and post rock band Jet Black Canyon. Since then he has released 13 personal albums and his sound has elements of the various genres he loves, including rock, hip hop, funk, soul and jazz. Guerrero is now recognized as an accomplished guitarist and bassist with a unique sound that incorporates a variety of influences ranging from John Coltrane and Gabor Szabo to Bad Brains and Joy Division.

 

He is often described by fans and media as one of the coolest people in the world, both for the way he creates and plays his music, and for his unique style of skateboarding.

On tour, Tommy Guerrero performs at a few select venues around the world based on his ability to connect well with the audience. In spring 2024, on the occasion of his new album “Amber of Memory”, he will do his next European tour and it’s finally time to enjoy his cool attitude and high aesthetics live!

On April 6, Tommy Guerrero will close his European performances with a unique live show in Athens!

Monsieur Minimal is coming to the impressive new Ground Stage, on Friday, March 1st, for a live “stand-up” show.

With a concert mood but mainly danceable, Monsieur Minimal will unfold his musical canvas from his so far rich discography, with a different and renewed set list, which will include all our favorite “Minimalist” and not only his hits!

Sunday. The day off, the day of leisure time together and meeting with loved ones to make the whole week go by.

 

The day that was indelibly engraved in popular song and created a large reservoir of songs of work, sorrow and common joy expressing the moments, dreams and anxieties of everyday people.

 

Three of the most important representatives of the younger generation, Yannis Dionysiou, Yannis Papageorgiou and Nefeli Fassouli meet for the first time on stage and invite us all to live together, Sunday feasts with the songs of the day off, of joy and laziness.

MARIA PAPAGEORGIOU

After a series of important performances and collaborations and after the special sensation and enthusiasm that the recent performance – proposal that celebrated Greek music with a new reading of the works of Thanos Mikroutsikos – caused, Maria Papageorgiou now presents – for two concerts only – her new proposal on the brand new stage of Gazarte, the Gazarte Ground Stage.

 

On Friday 19 and Friday 26 January 2024, Maria Papageorgiou and her musicians appear at the Gazarte Ground Stage in a different performance, without chairs, where audience and musicians are standing in the same space, seeking to abolish the concept of the conventional stage.

 

In this special concert setting, the repertoire that Maria Papageorgiou chooses from her personal discography, her western influences, but also from her underground routes in Greek singing will be special.

 

Radiohead talk to Stereo Nova and Pavlos Pavlidis’ journeys end in the organic house rhythms of Chilean Seba Campos, in a rare and vibrant sonic and scenic environment, where decades, languages, songwriters and their stories mix their pulses with those of the audience.
